Later, Yuta discussed the conditions of his technique with Yuji, Mei Mei, and Ui Ui. To copy a cursed technique, Rika needed to consume a part of the original owner's body. The body part and amount required varied depending on the technique and how many times Yuta wanted to use it. For stronger techniques, Rika needed to consume a more vital body part. However, Yuta could bypass this condition by limiting the number of times he used the technique with a binding vow. Yuji wondered if Yuta could copy Gojo's Limitless and Hakari's technique without disabling them, as they could use reverse cursed technique to regenerate the missing body parts. Yuta refuted this, revealing that a consumed body part that is then regenerated would no longer meet the requirements of Copy. Inumaki and Hana allowed him to use their arms since they couldn't be healed with modern medicine or reverse cursed technique, while Charles had to lose a rib for Yuta to copy his G Warstaff.
Mei Mei quietly cautioned Yuta against revealing this information to Yuji, worried about the resonance between Yuji and Sukuna. Yuta assured her that he would only put his plan into motion right before they fought Sukuna and give Yuji the minimum necessary information. He reasoned that even if Yuji and Sukuna's resonance could detect physical changes, Sukuna wouldn't be able to detect Yuji's thoughts or information since Yuji couldn't do the same. With the chaos following Gojo's fight, Yuta doubted Sukuna would learn about the plan, but he didn't want to distract Yuji before it. Yuta then told Yuji that Shrine was engraved in him and asked him to let him copy it.
In the present, Sukuna notices that Yuji is missing two fingers on his left hand. Remembering that he only removed the little finger to incarnate in Megumi, Sukuna recalls Yuta's words about his last finger and realizes it was a bluff, as Yuta copied Shrine using Yuji's finger instead of his. At the secret location holding Sukuna's last finger, Gakuganji and Utahime oversee the cursed object. The Kyoto Jujutsu High wonders how a cursed technique could penetrate the special grade cursed object, which is impervious to physical force and jujutsu sorcery alike. Utahime reveals that it could be done with a binding vow that forgoes destroying the cursed object to allow the technique's effects to pass through. She is more worried about the condition of a person who hasn't been awake for half an hour. That person is revealed to be Nobara Kugisaki, adorned with an eyepatch, as she tells her friends to rejoice!
Striking a nail through the finger, Nobara activates Resonance, causing multiple nails to burst out of Sukuna's chest! Recognizing Nobara's technique, a panicking Sukuna realizes that his technique was disrupted, preventing him from expanding his domain and subjecting him to Yuji's domain's sure-hit effect. Smiling with the knowledge that his friend is alive, Yuji activates the sure-hit effect and rends Sukuna's soul with Dismantle before kneeing him in the face. The two then engage in hand-to-hand combat as Yuji punches Sukuna squarely in the face, forcing him to throw up the fingers he ingested. As they trade blows, Sukuna remains confident that Yuji would lose; the boy has expended too much cursed energy to conjure the domain and couldn't even heal himself with reverse cursed technique.
A glancing blow to his face followed by a double impact surprises Sukuna and leaves him open to attacks. As he looks down at Yuji, the latter charges up cursed energy in his right fist before announcing to Sukuna that it is time to end his cycle of curses. With a powerful uppercut to Sukuna's abdomen that triggers a Black Flash, the King of Curses is knocked out as his eyes roll back, signaling the end of the fight.
